This project represented the first residential installation of the Apex product range and first use of the new Brazilian teak L-finish in South Africa. Specified by the architects for use as the primary look and feel of the client’s outdoor entertainment area, Apex was selected for its ease of installation, long-term performance and high fire and slip ratings, especially critical given the client’s brief for landscaping features.

International home improvement, gardening and DIY retailer Leroy Merlin began rolling out retail stores in Johannesburg, South Africa, but found that the timber products deployed in the creation of a façade to support its primary branding were weathering, tarnishing and discolouring after a short period. VistaClad and Lifespan support beams by Eva-Last were selected by Leroy Merlin to replace the timber products to increase the longevity, performance and consistency of the brand’s look and feel.
