GENERAL QUESTIONS
Eva-Last is a globally reputable brand that utilises a solution driven business model to create innovative, sustainable building materials and systems that add value to customers’ lives.
Eva-Last composite is a range of eco-friendly, bamboo plastic composite (BPC) building products comprised of decking, cladding, screening, railing, and pergola product lines. Eva-Last composite is designed for simple installation and a low-maintenance lifestyle. It offers an alternative to timber and is gentle on the Earth, long-lasting, and just plain beautiful.
Eva-Last composite was tested and the formula was scientifically developed through extensive testing under extreme weather conditions in and around South Africa. It is now manufactured under license in China and is distributed to over 30 countries around the globe. We are raising the bar on how to manufacture sustainably, and proving that quality products can be made in harmony with the Earth.
Eva-Last composite does the job of traditional timber building products, only it does it better. It is significantly lower maintenance than timber decking, and requires no staining, sanding, or sealing. It’s also equipped with built-in features that make it safer and longer lasting, with leading slip, stain, splinter, and crack resistance; colour protection; mould, mildew, and moisture resistance; and anti-microbial properties.
Eva-Last composite is also significantly more eco-friendly than wood decking. It’s made of recycled and renewable materials, requires no trees to be felled, manufactured with solar power, and requires no harmful chemicals for treatment.
Eva-Last composite lasts longer, performs better, and is safer, cleaner, and more sustainable than wood. And its expansive range of colours and textures mean you can still enjoy the look of timber decking without the drawbacks.
Eva-Last composite is a long-term investment. Over time it proves its value and works out to be more cost effective than wood decking.
While the initial purchase price of Eva-Last composite may be higher than standard timber decking, like pine, Eva-Last composite installs faster, does not require additional treatments or specialised cleaning products, lasts longer, and is stain, fade, rot, warp, crack, splinter, and moisture resistant, meaning you can avoid the costs of premature replacement. Its industry-leading warranty stands testament to the long-term durability of Eva-Last composite, and its long-term savings.
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
All Eva-Last products carry industry-leading warranties to give you peace of mind, knowing that you are using composite which is as reliable as it is sustainable.
Please visit our warranty page to read and download all warranties, or to file a warranty claim.
All Eva-Last warranties are dependent on proper installation and usage. Please consult the appropriate installation and care guidelines before using any Eva-Last product. We are happy to assist you with any questions you may have regarding warranties, installation, or product usage.
Avoid sanding any Eva-Last capped composite product, such as Apex or Infinity decking. Sanding may jeopardise the integrity of the material and void any ensuing warranty claims.
All composite, including Eva-Last composite, expands and contracts. Allow for this expansion and contraction before installing any Eva-Last composite in order to adhere to warranty parameters. Each Eva-Last product line has its own installation guide which gives the exact rate of expansion of the material in question, and provides an optimal gap size to leave between boards for a long-lasting deck.
Infinity I-Series composite decking is a ventilated profile which helps moderate and cool the surface temperature. However, all Eva-Last composite products may become hot in direct sunlight. Lighter colours are less prone than darker ones to absorbing heat, and may be a consideration if you are choosing to enjoy Eva-Last composite in areas with extended amounts of direct sunlight.
Eva-Last composite is low-maintenance and designed for long-term usage with minimal upkeep. In fact, only a hard bristle broom or mop is required for most cleaning situations. Stubborn stains may be addressed using the specially formulated Eva-Last Deck Wash, or through the careful use of a high-pressure hose. However, no other cleaning products or methods are required or recommended.
Regular saws, drills, and tools used for installing timber decking can be used to cut and fix Eva-Last composite; no special machinery is needed. Please refer to the installation guide of the specific Eva-Last composite product you are using before beginning your project for a complete list of applicable and necessary tools.
PRODUCTS
The lifetime value of Eva-Last composite entails the money it costs (and saves), the lifestyle freedom it provides, and the natural resources it preserves.
Eva-Last composite is a long-term investment. Over time it proves its value and works out to be more cost-effective than wood decking, while also providing value in terms of lifestyle, health, and sustainability.
Eva-Last composite pays for itself as it installs faster than wood decking, does not require additional treatments or specialised cleaning products, lasts longer, and is stain, fade, rot, warp, crack, splinter, and moisture resistant, meaning you can avoid the costs of premature replacement. Its industry-leading warranty stands testament to the long-term durability of Eva-Last composite, and its long-term savings.
Additionally, Eva-Last composite adds value to your lifestyle by freeing up your spare time to enjoy life, instead of maintaining your decking. It also serves as a stake in your commitment to the future; a sustainable product that can do the job of wood better than wood, itself.
Other than the Eva-Last composite joist, Eva-Last composite is specially engineered to function as decking, cladding, screening, or railing, rather than structural material. That’s because we’re focused on doing things thoroughly, and so we’ve dedicated ourselves to continuing to improve composite for its specific purpose, rather than for substructure. We do, however, design our composite decking to work with the structural material of your choice. We offer fasteners which make installation more efficient and long-lasting for both wood and metal substructures. We provide in-depth installation guidelines and are the leaders in composite expertise.
The array of colours and finishes available in our complete Eva-Last composite catalogue covers nearly every hue and shade found in natural timber. Each Eva-Last composite product range offers its own unique set of textures, finishes, and colours to suit your style. We suggest that you first choose the product line which appeals to you, and then consider which of its many available colours will best complement your outdoor space. Yes, all Eva-Last decks will have gaps between deck boards. The decking clips used in installation with grooved boards will act as spacers, automatically creating a standard 5 mm gap between your profiles. For non-grooved (or square edge) boards, use spacers to create a consistent 5 mm gap. This allows for dirt and debris to fall between the deck boards and prevents any build-up of debris that could cause issues down the line.
The weight of Eva-Last composite varies with the specific product you choose. Our Apex and I-Series (available in Infinity and Eva-tech) product ranges are among the most lightweight composite products available, but offer excellent performance and strength thanks to their innovative design. Please consult the specific product guide you are considering for exact weight and span specifications.
